The other day, while driving and chatting on the phone with a friend, I caught a glimpse of Mimi’s Plate’s sign out of the corner of my eye. My brakes might have squeaked a little, but it was a safe stop (promise!). Without hesitation, I ended my call, pulled over, and stepped inside and what a welcome it was! The moment you walk in, you’re greeted by a display of cookies and pastries that could make anyone forget their errands. But the real magic? The warm, smiling faces behind the counter who are just as sweet as the treats.

Mimi’s Plate changes its menu weekly, keeping things fresh, exciting, and full of surprises. At this time, their pastries were the stars at our kitchen counter (or, more accurately, a blink-and-it’s-gone situation). Everything was amazingly delicious but don’t get me started on their peppermint muffin with marshmallow: Pure holiday magic in a bite! Sonny, ever the dessert critic, gave an enthusiastic two thumbs up for their almond apricot bread pudding, and that’s saying something.

While there, I couldn’t resist asking about some of the dessert ingredients, and the response was nothing short of inspiring. The staff’s passion for what they create is infectious.
